> It takes approximately 40 gallons of pure sap to make one gallon of pure syrup.
> The maple season may last 8 - 10 weeks. Around here it is usually about 4 - 6 weeks.
> Tapping does not hurt the tree. Trees are tapped each year and many trees have been tapped for over 50 years.
> Only about 10% of the total sap from any tree is collected each year.
